Farshid Etniko, Sandy Weltman & Dave Black Trio

Listeners are treated to the sounds of Iran, Mr. Etniko's birthplace, and its neighbors, played on instruments native to that part of the world. After Farshid moved to Paris as a teenager, he absorbed more sounds of the West, including Gypsy Guitar from the south of France, and Spanish Guitar. For decades, Farshid has been home in America and St. Louis, where he has more fully explored and infused American jazz and pop with the music of his youth.
