The Saint Louis Chamber Chorus: Tchaikovsky's Vigil and Ukrainian Chants

Tchaikovsky truly loved the Orthodox Church and devoutly arranged its traditional melodies for his "All-Night Vigil.” Tchaikovsky's landmark of sacred music will be punctuated, topically, by chants from the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and motets from Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova, a rising female star in modern choral writing. We will also salute the Ukrainian spirit through Craig Courtney's homage to the people, the hauntingly beautiful "Ukrainian Alleluia." Parking is free. Masks are required.
