Wolfgang Gartner is not to be confused with Amadeus or the scrappy youths from Odd Future and their siren call "Wolf! Gang!" Gartner (real name Joey Youngman) may not be a composer or a hacked-off high schooler, but he has one thing those other famous Wolfgangs don't — a Grammy nomination. The electronic producer and beatsmith got started as a bedroom virtuoso before he even hit puberty; the self-taught Gartner began experimenting with a drum machine and MIDI at age eleven. In 2007, he adopted the Wolfgang moniker and started pumping out electro house in the vein of contemporaries Justice and Deadmau5. Gartner has a fan-fomented sibling rivalry with the latter that hasn't quite fizzled, despite their 2010 collaboration Animal Rights. Gartner's 2011 release Forever is fat with club-rat paeans. Standout "Illmerica" is such an instant classic, you'll swear you've danced to it before.
