Hundreds of Protestors Take to the Streets In and Around Saint Louis University

For the second time in less than a week, hundreds of Pro-Palestine protestors gathered at a St. Louis-area university to demand it divest from Boeing, which they say abets Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people.

The rally took place at Saint Louis University beginning at the Clock Tower and ending with a peaceful teach-in. The crowd consisted of students, community members, children, professors and several cute pups.

Unlike the demonstration at Wash U, where students established an encampment and police brutally arrested more than 100 people, there was minimal police presence at SLU.

Activists marched throughout the campus and with chants of “free, free, Palestine,” and “B-O-E-I-N-G get them off our property,” before blocking part of Grand Boulevard at Father Biondi SJ Way. The activists sat in the street for a teach-in calling on the university to recognize its Jesuit principles of justice to call for a ceasefire and divest from Boeing.
